It has taken about a year an enterprising team of 4 to put up Tapped Craft Beer Festival scheduled to take place in November. Riday Thakur of Yeast India Company, Rahul Mehra, co-founder Gateway Brewing Co, Bhakti Mehta of Little Food Co and Nevil Timbadia, co-owner of Auriga Hospitality have gotten together to be bring Mumbai’s first craft beer festival.
Tapped Craft Beer Festival Mumbai will see 10-12 locally brewed craft beers on tap at the venue
There will 10-12 locally brewed craft beers on tap at the venue. The brews will be provided by Gateway Brewing Co and Pune based Independence Brewing Co and Doolally. One of the highlights of the festival will be the presence of Bangalore’s famed Arbor Brewing Co’s. They are brewing collaborative pale ale GBC which will only be available at Tapped. Apart from local craft beer, you will also find 10-12 imported craft beers which include Erdinger on tap. We spoke to Thakur to find out how the concept of a craft beer festival came about, “We’ve been discussing for a while to get craft beers that are being brewed in the state of Maharashtra together. This is a way to get people to try out different varieties of beer and move away from big chains.”
Little Food Co and Mehta who are in charge of curating the food have on board Di Napoli’s pizza, Brewbot who will be serving Canadian staple Poutine, Woodside with a burger stand, Mexiloko, Sweetish House Mafia and Le 15 Patisserie with their spread of desserts amongst others. To go with the picnic like atmosphere, Tapped has associated with MTV Indies for musical performances and gigs taking place all day.
