Johnnie Walker returns with the 2nd edition of The Journey in December
In its second edition, Johnnie Walker The Journey is scheduled to take place on 13th December at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. This year’s performance line up includes Simon Greene of Bonobo (Live), Snarky Puppy, Kate Fryer’s Dislocate and Paul Potts. Bhavesh Somaya – Marketing Director, Diageo India said, “We are thrilled to move into the second edition of Johnnie Walker – The Journey. The Festival had an impactful debut last year and we will continue our journey to lead a progressive movement among the Indian audiences.”
Top 10 decided as part of Selection of India’s Finest Wines
As part of the upcoming Mumbai Wine Festival, a blind tasting of Indian wines was conducted to zero in on ‘Selection of India’s Finest Wines’. The tasting jury comprised of 8 wine experts. The top slot of the top ten went to Bangalore based SDU Syrah Reserve. The other winning wines included Seagram’s NineHills Chenin Blanc, Fratelli Sangiovese, Vallonne Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Classique 2011 (Reserve), KRSMA Estates Chardonnay, Grover Zampa La Reserve (Cabernet Sauvignon – Shiraz), SDU Winery- SDU Deva Chardonnay Reserve 2013, York Cabernet Sauvignon –Merlot, Seagram’s Nine Hills Viognier and Vallonne Vineyards Vin de Passerillage.
Japanese Yamazaki named the Best Whisky in the World
Jim Murray of the Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible has declared Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 as the best whisky in the world awarding it 97.5 points out of 100. Murray described the whisky as “near indescribable genius”, with a “nose of exquisite boldness” and a finish of “light, teasing spice”. While this is the first time a Japanese malt has achieved this accolade it is also the first time a Scottish malt has failed to find any space top 5 slot.
