How To Plan Your Own Bar Crawl
Pub crawls and bar crawls aren’t complicated affairs, as long as you are with people you get along with and can handle your liquor well. It is a great way to catch up with friends, enjoy a good day not to mention try out new places you’ve been eyeing for a while. Here are a few things you should keep in mind while organizing a DIY bar crawl.
Plan a route
This perhaps the most crucial thing, especially in Mumbai where traffic wreak havoc at any time. Wandering aimlessly will only be a buzzkill to a good time. Zero in on the places you want to visit, figure out roads, one-ways and traffic patterns.
Keep everyone in loop
Once you’ve fixed a plan and route, time to spread the word. Make sure you give all the details of start point, time, set ground rules, etc to all crawlers. Coordination and time management will be crucial to pull a bar crawl off.
Inform the restaurants and bars
If you are a tame manageable group of 5-6 people, its fine. But if you manage to gather more than that, it will make your life and the bar’s life much simpler. Especially if its a busy night for the bar, they will tell you beforehand whether they can accommodate your group. If not, you can plan an alternative.
It is easy to lose track of time and how many drinks you’ve had. Aim for just 1 -2 drinks at each stop of your crawl is sufficient. Try not to spend more than 45 minutes which is more than enough to enjoy 2 cocktails. This way you will ensure that you reach the final destination of your crawl with adequate time in your hands to go home.
What is your mode of transport?
If you can walk from one place to other, that would be the best. Otherwise it is a must that you find some mode of public transport, better still book an Uber or Ola to ferry you around.
We do not promote irresponsible behaviour and do not want you to drink and drive. If you have a car, get a Party Hard Driver or fix a designated driver.
Keep munching and hydrating
Make a halt at an eatery to load up on some carbs. Even though there is no proof that lining your stomach with food has any impact on your level of intoxication, it is a good idea nonetheless. A full stomach will also ensure that you don’t guzzle too many drinks.
Know when to call it a night
You’ve had a gala time, but knowing when to stop is important. Call it a night or day while you can still cherish the memories of a good time. Also avoid a nasty hangover the next day.
