5 Wines To Cool Off The Summer
Summer of 2015 has just hit its peak and there will be no respite for at least another month and a half. While beers are the way to go when it comes to beating the heat, we think wines come a close second, especially with drinkers who aren’t fond of beers (ladies, we’re looking at you).
This is a list of wines which are not only easy drinking but when had at the right temperature they will also alleviate you from the miserable heat.
Sula Zinfandel Rosé
This is an uncomplicated wine but yet has so much flavors and aromas. Raspberries, strawberries, melons are quite prominent which is paired with great acidity and a refreshing finish.
Hemisferio Sauvignon Blanc
This Chilean wine has intense flavors but makes for a great wine in the summer because of structured acidity. Typical herbaceous notes of Sauvignon Blanc are not dominant, instead ripe and exotic fruit notes come to the fore which balances with great finesse.
Jacob’s Creek Classic Chardonnay
There is a reason why this wine is one of the most popular wines in India. Jacob’s Creek winemakers have managed to create the right balance of depth from the oak and freshness with lemon and peach notes.
Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Villages
Gamay is one of the most light bodied grapes which make easy drinking red wines. As a matter of fact, wines from Beaujolais villages are generally meant to be had young. This particular wine has fresh, floral notes and ripe red fruit notes.
Zonin Pinot Grigio
Light, fresh and dry, this Italian Pinot Grigio is very well structured with the typical fruit aromas balanced together with a good body making quite a refined wine. It also pairs well with food!
