3 New Craft Beers to Try This Weekend
Nothing hits the spot like a chilled pint of beer on a hot summer’s day. And we have good news for all you beer fans, there are 3 new craft beers on tap in the city. You must make beeline for them because you never know how long the stocks will last.
Kroitzschlander Gose Bier
Mumbai’s first microbrewery, The Barking Deer, has relaunched their annual brew the Kroitzschlander Gose Bier to celebrate owner Gregory Kroitzsh’s birthday.
Kroitzsh has taken inspiration from his family’s roots in Leipzig, a city in eastern Germany – his great great grandfather, Johann Kroitzsch, immigrated to the United States in 1880s – and the city’s favorite beer, Gose. As for the name Kroitzschlander, it is taken from the brew Kroitzsh’s father, Donald, used to brew for family reunions. A beer with strong familial bonds has to be special.
Kroitzschlander Gose Bier is a wheat beer with notes of spice, distinct lactose sourness and salt! It is a light refreshing beer which according to Kroitzsh, pairs very well with Mumbai weather.

Bootcamp Pale Ale
Pune-based Independence Brewing Company has introduced Bootcamp Pale Ale. This beer is a dedicated of their first of it’s kind 2 day craft beer boot camp at its facility in Pune. 15 beer enthusiasts from all over India got to know how commercial beer is brewed from start to end.
This special pale ale is also part of IBC’s single hop series brewed using Centennial Hops. This Pale Ale has a great balance between refreshing, fruity, citrusy, hoppy flavour and malty backbone. It ends with a dry finish.
Bootcamp Pale Ale is available at the two Woodside Inn outlets in Colaba and Andheri.

Mumbai’s favorite tap room, Doolally, has Chocolate Porter on tap. As the name suggests, this brew is all about chocolate. Dark chocolate, coffee and caramel are the dominant flavors. The beer is an easy drinking one with a nice velvety finish.
Chocolate Porter is available at both the Doolally Taproom outposts in Bandra and Andheri.
